Materials you will need:
• Ball
• Blind fold/eye patch
• A couple volunteers
|

Here is a fun test for you!
How well do you think you are at catching a ball?
When you catch a ball you have to judge the speed
and position of the ball coming at you. This test needs to be performed
in an open area (preferably outside).
Steps:
Ask these questions to your volunteers:
1.) Do you think it will make any difference
catching a ball with one eye closed? Write down your prediction.__________________________________________
2.) Do you think it will make any difference
which eye is closed? Write down your prediction.__________________________________________________
3.) Have your first volunteer to stand around
3 feet away from you.
4.)) Throw the ball underhand to you volunteer
and record the number of times s/he catches the ball out of 20
throws.
(you can use the chart below to help).
5.) Next, place the blind fold or eye patch
over the left eye of the same volunteer and throw the ball underhand
to your volunteer and record the number of times s/he catches the
ball out of 20 throws.
6.) Now place the blind fold or eye patch
over the right eye of the same volunteer and throw the ball underhand
to your volunteer and record the number of times s/he catches
the ball out of 20 throws.
In the table below record the number of catches
out of 20 throws.
